the concept

My design philosophy has always been to be suggestive rather than obvious. This is expressed in embedding subtle details into each design for the discerning eye. I work first on creating well-cut, structured styles and then enhance them with carefully chosen fabrics. This is blended with touches such as hand-sewn embroidery, printed linings, and different fastenings.

I feel the best designs have a timeless presence. Fashion by definition changes every season, but to produce a unique piece that will look good this season and far in the future is always one of my goals.

In Chinese calligraphy, the fewer brush strokes there are in a character, the more difficult it is to get the character more beautiful. In designing a dress, if even one part is not right then it shows. In every item my company makes we spend hours on the cutting and pattern, choosing the right fabric, and integrating small details.

Because ideas can be duplicated in the fashion world so quickly, my company has to be very quick and flexible. I am always experimenting to integrate cutting edge concepts to keep my brand evolving. By offering unique and different clothing and accessories, I hope to provide ways women can directly express their own individuality, personality, and sense of style.

There is nothing that makes me happier than to hear a satisfied customer say she has received complements about an item she purchased from our collection or that it has become one of the favorites in her wardrobe. This is the true reward and makes all of the long hours of designing and running a global company worth the effort.
